In His Own Word
**(Sadly, Mr. Hodges pass on Dec. 19, 2024 - 99 years.)** Picture this, it's 1945 and having just about 6 hours of flying lessons under your belt and then being told its 'SOLO' time! What? Tuskegee Rookie Airman Jerry "The Crow" Hodges Jr. said to himself, "I can't do this." So, guess what, he did. Especially when no one was looking. So, he did things he wasn't supposed to do with his airplane. Yes, he did! Like cutting off the top of corn stalks in a corn field with his propellers, flying 'so-low.' Not a good time to be a farmer. In flying alone, he would marvel at the world below him, as he flew below the clouds. Oh yeah, he was figuring out what was he going to next with his airplane... Hear & watch the lively, 2nd Lt. Jerry T. Hodges Jr. retired, story. As told to me when he was 96 years
